In most households, the ladies like to bling it up for special occasions. But then there are the guys; they seem to dread the dress up. And for some houses, the dread could last for days.
That's why this year's St. Francis Gala, Jeans & Jewels, demands the perfect party attire. For the girls, topping off a lovely gown or sassy cocktail number with loads of sparkle and maybe a denim jacket if the look works. For the guys, it means jeans and a jacket. Jeans to a gala? I'll bet there are few sweeter words for a man to hear when discussing a night out.
The annual Gala is one of St. Francis Hospital Foundation's fundraiser and consists of an evening of dinner, dancing, silent auction and more. The event would not be possible each year without the support and efforts of the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary and numerous other volunteers who will work countless hours to make the night a success.
The Gala is set for Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Maryville Community Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.
This year's event will also include the recognition of two County Health Heroes. With the most recent release of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's annual county health rankings, Nodaway County has been designated as the healthiest county in Missouri. In conjunction with the medical community, Margaret Pierson and Teri Harr have demonstrated their dedication to improving the health of Nodaway County residents. These community leaders will be recognized and celebrated at the Gala.
The proceeds for this year's fundraiser will go toward the purchase of new ultrasound equipment at the hospital.
Tickets are $60 per person and include hors d'oeuvres and a gourmet meal. To purchase tickets, donate an auction item, or become a sponsor, please contact the Community Relations and Development office at St. Francis by calling (660) 562-7933.
